1. What is an OpenEco-Lab?

 

An OpenEco-Lab is a location (a house, a farm) with a workshop and / or laboratory and possibly seminar rooms. This is where the development and / or production of OpenHardware projects take place, the content of which is close to the idea of ​​the Open Source Ecology movement.

Open Source Ecology (OSE) is an open and decentralized movement building an open source economy that optimizes both production and distribution, while promoting environmental regeneration and social justice.

An OpenEcoLab can be operated by a local OSE group or a private person. The term "OpenEcoLab" is not protected or specific, so that basically anyone who wants and has the appropriate premises or a workshop can designate it as OpenEcoLab (and have it entered in the OpenEcoLab map). The name itself simply implies a certain direction of the projects there.
